The latest analyses based on satellite imagery indicate catastrophic damage to infrastructure and residential buildings, with tens of thousands of structures destroyed, making Gaza one of the most severely affected areas in the world today.

Destruction Statistics: Alarming Numbers
According to satellite image analysis data from UNITAR-UNOSAT, the number of buildings that suffered total or partial destruction as of December 1, 2024, is as follows:

• 60,368 buildings completely destroyed
• 20,050 buildings heavily damaged
• 56,292 buildings moderately damaged

This massive destruction affects not only residential homes but also schools, hospitals, and essential infrastructure, deepening the humanitarian crisis and threatening reconstruction prospects in the near future.

Geographical Distribution of Damage
According to the analysis, the destruction was not evenly distributed across the Gaza Strip governorates; some areas suffered higher rates of damage than others. The distribution of damage by governorate is as follows:

• Gaza City: 46,685 buildings damaged
• Khan Yunis: 42,300 buildings damaged
• North Gaza: 37,614 buildings damaged
• Rafah: 26,521 buildings damaged
• Deir al-Balah: 17,692 buildings damaged
